Imagine a perilous wilderness where feral, blood-thirsty predators compete for prey. Conjure, if you can, the image of a defenseless, unsuspecting herbivore grazing peacefully in the tall grass when out of the foliage leaps thirty desperate and ravenous carnivores. No, I'm not describing some African wilderness; I'm talking about the job market.
From my point of view, the job market is like a jungle in that I am a predator hunting for a job, or prey. The job search is not an easy task, oh no. First, I must make my way through the hazardous job market in order to find an opening. Ah, I spot one. The problem; however, is that there are perhaps thirty to one hundred other job hunters who have also spotted my potential prey. They are as equally qualified and equally desperate as I am. We all pounce at once and to the victor goes the spoils. I must wait until the others are done before it is my turn to feed.

I think that is the greatest comparison I've ever read
