Wake-up Call

This morning I was reminded how pathetic I've become in my job search. In the a.m. hours before I usually get up (I like to sleep in until noon) I was jerked awake by the harsh ring of my phone. I knew that mom left at least an hour ago to babysit Rylee and wouldn't be able to take my call like a nice mother receptionist, so I jumped out of bed and stumbled, half-awake, down the stairs to the kitchen phone. The kitchen phone was gone! So I ran down another flight of stairs to the basement. I was so excited when the caller asked for my name. You see, I recently had an interview with Soupley's Wine and Spirits so I was hoping they were calling back. Unfortunately, it was a tele-marketer.

So, I am still hopelessly waiting for Soupley's to call. The funny thing is, I have a degree in education. I spent the entire first half of summer interviewing for teaching positions at various schools. Not one school hired me.

Well, here I am, desperately drooling over the phone, waiting anxiously for Soupley's to call. If they don't hire me, I might as well hang myself with the phone cord.
